Man found shot to death in SE Houston near elementary school, gunman at large

HOUSTON – Authorities are trying to piece together what led up to a man’s death Wednesday morning in southeast Houston.

Details are limited, as it’s an active investigation, but Houston police said it happened just before 7 a.m. at an apartment complex on Dixie Drive near Tierwester Street.

Investigators said an unidentified man in his 30s was found shot to death inside his home, and his killer took off before police arrived. It’s unclear how everything unfolded, but officials said they believe the gunman knew the victim.
