Man, teen arrested for murder after fatal shooting at apartment complex

A man and a teen have been arrested for the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of two others in northwest Houston earlier this month.

20-year-old Andres Garcia and 17-year-old Joshua Richards are charged with the murder of 18-year-old Miguel Gonzalez Jr. at 8301 Willow Place Drive on Saturday, March 1.

When HPD patrol officers responded to the apartment complex where the attack took place, they found Gonzalez unresponsive and lying in the courtyard with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to court documents, the murder happened as Garcia and Richards attempted to rob Gonzalez. Two other males at the scene were also shot, and they were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Garcia and Richards are both set to appear in court at 9 a.m. Monday morning.
