What happened?
Police say a man walked into a construction zone on E. 25th Street On March 5 around 3:45 p.m., eyeing some tools left unattended. But the workers caught him in the act and confronted him. Things escalated when the suspect pulled out a gun, but the workers didn’t back down. In a quick scramble, they disarmed him, sending the weapon flying into a nearby ditch.
Realizing he wasn’t going to win this one, the suspect bolted, jumped into a waiting white sedan, and sped off into the afternoon.

The suspect is described as a Black man, likely between 20 and 30 years old, and wearing black clothing at the time of the robbery.
