1 dead after crash involving wrong-way driver on Houston’s South Loop

One person has died after being involved in a three-vehicle car collision on the South Loop.

The crash was reported just after 5 p.m. on IH-610 near Braeswood Boulevard.

Houston Police say a vehicle was driving the wrong way on the highway at the time of the crash.

In an update, police say the driver of the vehicle going the wrong way died in the crash.

A woman along with a four and six-year-old child in a separate vehicle were taken to a hospital in unknown condition. The driver of the third vehicle was also hospitalized.

It is unclear if drugs or alcohol may have played a factor in the crash.
