HOUSTON – You’ve heard of crowds lined up and wrapped around the building, eager to get in to see a live performance at the Toyota Center. For popular comedian and fan favorite, Matt Rife, the lines were more zigzagged, with thousands of excited Houstonians.

But the night would take an unexpected, thrilling turn before Rife got on stage when Alief’s own Mo Amer made a surprise appearance and performed a short stand-up set before introducing the headliner.

And just when things couldn’t get more electric, in came The People’s Champ himself, Paul Wall, walking side-by-side Rife and performing a short rendition of the hit song “Grillz”

The night was a full circle moment, as Rife recently guest-starred on Amer’s hit Netflix show, Mo, in its newly released second season. Paul Wall had a small cameo during the first season, which was filmed entirely in Houston.

KPRC 2 has reached out to Paul Wall and Amer’s publicist for comment and more information on Sunday’s surprising but unforgettable night, but has not heard back as of this writing.
