HOUSTON – A DPS Trooper was involved in a shooting with a suspect in the Willowbrook area of Houston Friday.

Texas DPS says the shooting happened in the 8300 block of Willow Place Drive around 1:30 p.m. This is not far from FM 1960.
An official with Texas DPS says they. along with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Houston Police Department were attempting to serve an aggravated robbery warrant.
The official said the two suspects were located at the Willow Green apartments.
Law enforcement ordered the suspects out of the apartment, at which point one of the suspects attempted to flee out a window.

The suspect has been shot and EMS is on scene. The Trooper has not been injured.

As the suspect was trying to get out of the window, a trooper spotted him holding a gun. At that point, the trooper fired at the suspect, striking him.
After the shooting, troopers helped the wounded suspect out of the window and provided medical aid. The suspect was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The other suspect is also in custody.
The Texas Rangers will be investigating the shooting.
