Houston police searching for man accused of shooting father during argument over money

HOUSTON – Authorities are looking for a man accused of shooting his father late Wednesday night in northeast Houston.

It happened around 11:15 p.m. when investigators said the unidentified father was in his truck at a parking lot on N Loop East Freeway off 610 while his son was in another car with his friend.

Police have not identified any of the people involved but said the son and father were talking about money, which escalated into an argument about someone owing somebody. At some point, Lt. Willkens with HPD said the son shot his father before taking off with his friend.

Meanwhile, the father drove a short distance before crashing into the N Loop East Service Road’s embankment.

He was then taken to the hospital in unknown condition, while a search remains underway for the son.
