Shop local at the Houston Rodeo: The Hive brings unique finds to NRG Center

A new vendor is creating buzz at the NRG Center. The Hive, a collection of 12 Houston-based brands, is bringing a variety of fashion, accessories, and home décor to the rodeo for the first time.

“It’s like a beehive, and we all pull together and help each other out. We all bring different talents to the table,” said Gretchen Gilliam, owner of Glamour Gypsies, one of the brands featured in The Hive.

Gilliam is bringing her signature rodeo-inspired “bling” to shoppers, while other vendors at The Hive offer everything from handmade jewelry and candles to boutique clothing and gifts.

“We have a lady here that does home décor and gifts. We have several that do jewelry. We have a candle lady, and several of us sell just about anything you’d find in a boutique—clothing, shoes, bags—you can find it all here at The Hive,” Gilliam added.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Six new rides opening at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, total of 82 fill the midway

For The Hive vendors, being part of the rodeo is an opportunity to connect with shoppers from all over and share their unique styles. Jolene Ong, owner of Little Red Dot Apparel, brings her Singaporean roots to life with stylish designs that make a bold statement.

“That’s the amazing thing—you get a bit of everything. Clothing, jewelry, jackets, boots, hats, everything. It’s really a one-stop shop,” Ong said.

Shoppers can visit The Hive at booth B10-29 inside NRG Center.
