Alan Kent Development - Julie and Alan Kent, Randa and Ray Gilliam, Andrea and Bruce Bryant, and John M. Cotterell for a Rodeo record of $325,000.

Nutcracker Market going all virtual this year
HOUSTON โ The Nutcracker Market will be going all virtual this year. The market, which is the largest single fundraiser for the Houston Ballet, will be extended to a monthlong event for online shopping. More than 200 merchants have signed up to participate in the virtual event that will run from Nov. 11 to Dec. 11. The holiday tradition was set to open its 40th year at NRG Center on Nov. 11. A spring version of the Nutcracker Market was launched in 2019.
Harris County replaces unused NRG Arena tent hospital with new facility for potential COVID-19 surge
HOUSTON โ The controversial โTent Hospitalโ that was assembled, sat unused and then deconstructed, is being replaced with another facility inside NRG Arena. The price tag is to keep the makeshift 150-bed facility in a state of readiness, Hidalgo said. Air filtration in the section of NRG Arena, where the facility is located, has been upgraded to accommodate patients. Hidalgo said that the new facility is more cost-effective than the old temporary hospital and will be managed by Harris County instead of a third-party contractor. When I hear people talk about โin case thereโs a second surge,โ last time I checked, we didnโt have the first surge,โ KPRC2 Analyst Ed Emmett said.

Top quilters receive ribbons in Houston Livestock Show and Rodeoโs 2020 Quilt contest
HOUSTON โ With more than 60 entries from quilters across the designated 68 Area Go Texan counties and Houston-area counties, winners of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo 2020 Quilt Contest were announced Monday. Those who had winning quilts will have their artwork showcased in the NRG Center during the rodeo, which begins Tuesday. Ribbons were awarded in categories that included, Overall Best of Show, Best of Division, Best of Go Texan Award and Judges Choice, among others. The Overall Best of Show winner was Virginia Horton, for her quilt called โStar Crossed,โ which represented Live Oak County, Area Go Texan Committee. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will run through March 22.
