5 people injured in shooting at Houston bar; shooter appeared to be firing randomly

Suspect remains at large

Officers responded to a shooting call at a local bar, arriving to a hectic scene where multiple individuals had been shot, seemingly at random.

The incident occurred at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning at The Address Bar and Grill in the 3300 block of Raleigh Street.

Surveillance footage shows the suspect approaching the front doors of the bar and firing a weapon inside. Investigators do not believe any specific individuals were targeted, as the suspect appeared to shoot randomly.

A total of five victims—three men and two women—sustained gunshot wounds. Ages are unknown at this time.

Officers provided first aid, applied tourniquets, and chest seals, and used life-saving measures. John Cannon with HPD said all five victims were transported to the hospital in critical condition, and some remain in critical as of Monday morning.

“The club was closed, and everybody was coming out, so everybody was just standing up, and then you just hear shots and turn around and see somebody shooting and then, you know, everybody [is] running,” a witness told KPRC 2′s Ricky Muñoz. “I mean, you just hate that it happens, you know. You don’t want to see anybody die.”

Authorities believe an altercation occurred around 20 minutes before the shooting, but it is unclear if the events are related.

The suspect, described as wearing black clothing, fled the scene in a four-door white vehicle. Detectives are investigating to gather more information and locate the suspect.
