On Thursday, July 4, 2024, at around 8:40 am, a group was servicing gaming machines at a convenience store, located in the 5000 block of Chapman Street.
Police said as the group was leaving the store, they saw a black minivan backed into a parking space. The two men, armed with weapons, got out of the black minivan and walked up to the group with their guns pointing at them.
One member of the group pulled out his handgun and gunfire was exchanged between him and the two suspects, police said.
During the shootout, one of the group members was struck in the torso by the suspect’s handgun.
The suspects then picked up the bag, containing miscellaneous equipment, that the group dropped, got back into the minivan, and sped away from the location.
Information leading to the charging or arrest of any felony suspects may result in a cash payment of up to $5,000.
