Homeless encampment catches fire in north Houston, firefighters investigating

Firefighters were called to put out a big fire at a homeless encampment in north Houston overnight Friday.

It’s not clear how the fire started, but the flames extended into the trees and bushes on North Freeway’s wooded area just off I-45 around 1:15 a.m.

Firefighters were able to quickly put out the flames, and no injuries were reported.
