The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office says Hodge drove Uriah Urick and Tara King to Laredo in an attempt to help them evade law enforcement after the murder of Tammy King.
Urick and King were arrested and charged with capital murder after Tara’s grandmother, Tammy King, was found dead with a gunshot wound in her Bacliff home. The two were on the run for several days after the murder.
The sheriff’s office says they believe Hodge was in possession of the weapon used to kill Tammy King. On Wednesday, Hodge was pulled over in a traffic stop and found to be in possession of methamphetamine, a digital scale, and plastic baggies.
During an interview, the sheriff’s office says Hodge admitted to being a felon and told detectives that Uriah Urick and Tara King gave him stolen guns.
The sheriff’s office says two guns, ammunition, and other evidence was found in Hodge’s storage shed.
“This arrest is a significant development in our pursuit of justice for Tammy King and her family. We are committed to ensuring that those who aid in violent crimes are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the sheriff’s office said.
