Texas DPS Troopers & Special Agents are assisting Homeland Security Investigations, with an operation in Colony Ridge this morning.
They are targeting criminals & illegal immigrants.
I have worked with Tom Homan on this for months.
KPRC 2 reporter Corley Peel was at the scene in Liberty County, observing the situation. She reports witnessing two traffic stops involving state troopers and Homeland Security. These stops occurred near County Road 3549 and County Road 3540.
Video footage shows a trooper at a driver’s window, with an undercover vehicle, identified by flashing lights, positioned behind the trooper’s SUV.
Homeland Security investigators were seen in the undercover vehicle, but no arrests were observed at the time. However, surveillance video shared by neighbors shows what appears to be DEA agents taking two men into custody after a traffic stop in a neighborhood.
An anonymous witness expressed concern, saying, “We are scared for our family,” highlighting the community’s anxiety over the operation.
Immigration advocacy groups are present, reminding families of their rights. DPS officials have declined to comment on the operation, and Homeland Security has yet to respond to inquiries.
Reporter Corley Peel notes that the operation has not involved any raids inside neighborhoods, focusing instead on traffic stops along county roads. A witness, Roberto Alfaro, expressed his preparedness, stating, “We’re prepared; we are with an immigration attorney and have been saving up quite a lot.”
The situation remains tense as the community awaits further information from Homeland Security.
