Umm, yeah. So a new report is saying Texas is one of the most “sinful states” in the United States.

While I’m not here to judge—Researchers at WalletHub did a deep dive into the darkest parts of the country, comparing all 50 states based on the seven sins: anger/hatred, jealousy, greed, lust as well as vanity and laziness.

That’s right folks, the Simpsons gifs are back! Deal with it.

Texas ended up getting ranked fifth most sinful state, between Louisiana and Tennessee. Want to take a wild guess what state was named most sinful? Nevada — home of Sin City itself, Las Vegas.

Ironically, less than a few months ago, WalletHub named Houston the second most sinful city in the country.

In that report, Houston was ranked 1st when it came to “Lust” and 5th when it came to “Jealousy.” Likewise in WalletHub’s 2025 report about Texas, the Lone Star State also was ranked 1st for “Lust” but 6th for “Jealousy.”

While the word “sinful” might make people feel some type of way, WalletHub shared this comment on the report:

“People across the nation have their own moral struggles, from violent outbursts and bullying to compulsive gambling, excessive lust, and self-destructive consumption,” Chip Lupo, WalletHub Analyst said. “While individual cases of negative behavior may only affect a few people, when these behaviors are exhibited by a high share of a state’s population, the majority of the state’s residents suffer as a result. States should invest in resources to help people curb vices, such as robust rehabilitation programs for people with gambling and drug addictions.”
