KPRC 2 learned Johnson has been arrested several times in the past for similar charges.
According to Harris County District Court records, Johnson’s criminal history dates back to Nov. 2019, when he was accused of assaulting a woman at a restaurant on 5000 FM 1960 W. in Northwest Houston.
That case was dismissed in Oct. 2021.
In April 2022, Johnson was arrested again, this time on charges involving an attempted assault of a man with a knife. He took a plea deal for that case in Jan. 2023, and was placed on five years of deferred adjudication, or probation.
In July 2023, a woman told police Johnson tried to steal her car, and he hit her on the head and leg with the vehicle door. He was indicted by a Harris County grand jury in March 2024 for a robbery charge in that case.
Court documents reveal he took a plea deal on the case and got the charge reduced to an assault charge. He was sentenced to 300 days in Harris County Jail.
Several women tell KPRC 2 Johnson was threatening to assault them or assaulting them over the past few weeks in the Montrose area.
One woman named Catherine said he threatened to pull a gun on her last Monday.
“I haven’t been feeling safe knowing that he was out on the streets. And now that he’s been arrested, I feel better,” said Catherine.
Another woman named Katherine said she encountered Johnson last Wednesday.
“I remember the look in his eye like he looked completely crazy. It just it was like no situation I’d ever been in before,” said Katherine.
Johnson’s next court date is Feb. 25.
