2 teens arrested in connection to violent armored truck robberies including ‘Scrooge Sprayer’ heist

Two teenagers have been arrested for suspected involvement in multiple armored truck robberies across Houston.

Malachi Davis, 17, faces multiple charges, including aggravated robbery and organized crime. His alleged accomplice, 17-year-old Kameron McMichael, is charged with attempted aggravated robbery.

Authorities believe that Davis was involved in a Dec. 20 attack on an armored truck driver at a Food Town grocery store. Officials with FBI Houston dubbed the suspects in that attack as the “Scrooge Sprayers,” because they sprayed the truck courier in the face with an unknown substance to debilitate him during the attack.

Both suspects are also connected to a January 23 bank heist in West Houston. During that robbery, a security guard shot McMichael, and he was taken into custody the same day.

The teens are currently held in the Harris County Jail.
