HOUSTON – Authorities are looking into a gruesome death in northwest Houston late Tuesday night when a man was shot several times outside of his car, while his girlfriend and a 5-year-old girl were still inside.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. when Lt. Willkens with the Houston Police Department was called to a gas station on W Tidwell near Gunh Road off Northwest Freeway.
Preliminary details shared are the unidentified man in his 20s went inside the store to get change, leaving his girlfriend and their 5-year-old in the car and when he returned, a black vehicle pulled up near them and a passenger shot the man several times while he was outside of his car.
One of the bullets hit the man’s car, but his girlfriend and the little girl were not injured. Lt. Willkens said the man suffered several gunshot wounds throughout his body and died at the scene.
