Ground stop lifted at Bush Intercontinental Airport after area hit by severe thunderstorms

A ground stop was issued at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) as thunderstorms scattered across the city early Tuesday evening.

The stop started at around 5 p.m. and was slated to last until 6:45 p.m.

Officials determined that the conditions were safe after the time had passed, and the stop was lifted just after 6:45 p.m.

It’s unclear whether or not flights will be further impacted by the weather across Houston tonight.
