Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to Zinn Drive off Highway 90 in Crosby. That’s where detectives found the man’s body, lying in the driveway.

“The male has sustained several gunshot wounds, and that’s what he died of,” said Sergeant Greg Pinkins at a press conference on the scene Sunday.

Pinkins did not specify how many gunshot wounds were found on the victim’s body or where on the body the wounds were found.

Deputies are still piecing together a timeline of events, but neighbors tell KPRC they heard several gunshots between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.

Maria Rodriguez, who lives just a few houses down from where the shooting took place and said shootings are a frequent occurrence in her neighborhood.

“Every day, especially on the weekends,” said Rodriguez when speaking about shootings. “I’ve never been feeling 100% safe since I’ve been here.”

KPRC 2 was on the scene when deputies took a man in handcuffs for questioning. HCSO tells KPRC the man has not yet been named a suspect.

On Sunday, detectives were seen canvassing the area and taking pictures of the crime scene. Sgt. Pinkins said the victim did not live at the house he was found in front of.

“We’re currently waiting, trying to get a search warrant signed so that we can go in and process the residents and the vehicles and other items there on the property,” said Pinkins.

The victim will be identified by the medical examiner’s office, once next-of-kin is notified.

Deputies are asking the public to reach out to HCSO or Crime Stoppers, if they know any information.
