The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has cracked down on a criminal network that’s been causing quite a stir with their smash-and-grab robberies at jewelry stores inside local supermarkets. These bold thefts have resulted in thousands of dollars in stolen jewelry and left quite a mess behind.

Four people are now in custody facing some serious charges. Dexter R. Mitchell, along with his nephew Reginald D. Mitchell, Shonton D. Howard, and Christian D. Venson, have been charged with first-degree felony offenses. They’re accused of engaging in organized criminal activity with a deadly weapon and committing aggravated robbery.
But that’s not all—this crew is believed to have pulled off similar heists in the Dallas area too. The authorities are hoping these folks will face the full brunt of the law.
The jewelry stores they hit were located in supermarkets at spots like 11303 Veterans Memorial and 3050 N Fry, with the incidents happening between November and December 2024.
