Houston police are currently awaiting autopsy results for skeletal remains that were found inside of a cooler.
The remains were discovered at 65 Hirsch Road around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

According to HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Davidson and R. Bounds, patrol officers responded to a call about a suspicious package at the location. Upon arrival, they met with a witness who reported finding what appeared to be human skeletal remains inside a cooler. Both HPD homicide detectives and investigators from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences were called to the scene.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is working to determine the gender, identity, and cause of death of the remains.
The investigation is ongoing, with the cause of death pending the results of the autopsy.
