Houston Police said it happened around 7 p.m. in the 7400 block of Southway Drive. The address is just off Telephone Road in the Golfcrest/Bellfort area of Houston.

HPD says the 30-year-old man was inside the apartment complex when he was approached by three or four men who attempted to rob him.

During the robbery, the suspects both shot and stabbed the 30-year-old before fleeing the scene.

Police say as the suspects were fleeing, they encountered the 12-year-old and 15-year-old and a fight broke out between the suspects and the other two.

During the fight, police say the 15-year-old was both shot and stabbed and the 12-year-old was also shot.

All three of the victims were transported to a hospital and are expected to survive. They were said to all be conscious and talking when they were transported to the hospital.

Witnesses are being interviewed and investigators are seeking surveillance footage.

Right now, the only description investigators have of the suspects is they were all dressed in black.

It is believed that the original robbery occurred on the west side of the apartment complex with the suspects fleeing eastward where they encountered the 12-year-old and 15-year-old on the opposite side of the complex.
