Just after 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 7, Miller was driving a black Pontiac G6 sedan at a high rate of speed northbound on I-45 near 7700 North Freeway. Authorities believe he may have been racing a blue Mercedes Benz 320 sedan.
Both cars exited the freeway at West Gulf Bank Road. Miller’s vehicle crossed multiple lanes on the service road and slammed into the curb on the far-right side. His Pontiac drove into a grassy area, struck a concrete pipe and rolled several times.
The driver of the Mercedes witnessed the crash and returned to the scene. He was questioned and released after authorities determined he was sober.
HFD first responders transported Miller to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
