The Houston Rockets have completed a trade with the Boston Celtics that brought a new face to Space City.
The trade was announced by ESPN Senior NBA Insider Shams Charania.

The Rockets acquired Jaden Springer and a 2030 second-round draft pick from the Celtics. The teams also exchanged additional “heavily protected second-round picks,” although the specific picks have not yet been announced.

Springer is a guard in his fourth season out of the University of Tennessee. He was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 28th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. After spending his first three seasons in Philadelphia, Springer was traded to Boston in February of 2024 for a second-round pick.
Springer has played in 17 games in the 2024-25 season, including one start. He is averaging 1.0 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game in 7.6 minutes per contest.
