New video released, reward increased in Cypress triple murder, arson investigation

A new surveillance video and a $25,000 reward could be the key to solving a triple homicide in Cypress, where three victims were shot in their sleep before their home was set ablaze.

Determined to find those responsible, law enforcement officials have ramped up their investigation into the brutal murders of Kelly Masciarelli, Kolin Foster, and Cameryn Richard, who were killed in their Cypress home on August 18, 2024.

At a press conference this morning, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, alongside the FBI’s Houston Field Office, announced the increased reward and urged the public to come forward with any information that could lead to an arrest.

Along with the reward increase, authorities have released new surveillance footage captured on the morning of the crime. The video shows an unidentified male suspect approaching the victims’ residence on Plains River Drive around 6 a.m. Shortly after, the suspect allegedly shot the three victims multiple times while they were asleep before setting the residence on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence.

Investigators believe the suspect fled the scene in a dark-colored (blue or black) four-door sedan with a third brake light in the lower portion of the rear window. Detectives said the vehicle has chrome rims, chrome emblem and a chrome grill. The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Cypresswood Drive before making a right turn onto Cypress Rosehill towards Highway 290 at around 6:15 a.m. Law enforcement sources told KPRC2 they have a good lead on the vehicle and its location.

KPRC2 Reporter Corley Peel spoke with Richard’s parents. They said their 21-year-old daughter was tiny, but full of life. Cameryn’s mother, Tina Taylor, said they are confident, someone will be caught.

“I think all of our families are suffering. Three lives were taken for no reason. Our 4’6 82-pound daughter was shot to death for no reason. You’re going to eventually get caught. You can’t run forever. God says vengeance is mine, and it will be. I’m not worried about this person getting caught. They will get caught eventually,” said Taylor.

Kolin’s father, Michael Foster, said his 23-year-old son was good hearted, cared about people and loved cars. He is hoping someone will break their silence.

“He needs to be caught, somebody knows something,” said Foster.

“This was a senseless and devastating act of violence that has shattered a family and left our community reeling,” said Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. “We are committed to bringing those responsible to justice and providing some measure of closure to the victim’s loved ones.”
