Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun was selected as a reserve for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, notching the first All-Star Game appearance in his young career.

Sengun is the first Rocket to earn an All-Star nod since guards James Harden and Russell Westbrook were selected during the 2020 season.

The Turkish big man is in his fourth NBA season. He has started all 46 of the Rockets’ games, averaging 19.1 points, 10.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. His productive play has helped jolt the team to a 32-14 record, good for first place in the Southwest Division and the second seed in the Western Conference.

He has also recorded 28 double-doubles in his 46 appearances this season and is tied for the sixth-most games with 20+ points and 10+ rebounds in the NBA.

Sengun’s first All-Star nod puts him in elite company in Rockets’ history, as he joins Moses Malone, Hakeem Olajuwon and Yao Ming as the only players in franchise history to earn an All-Star selection at 22 years old or younger.
