With the 2025 Lunar New Year officially underway, people across Houston are looking for fun ways to celebrate the occasion across the city.

Here are some places you can check out if you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate:

Lunar New Year at Color Factory

Described as the “#1 best immersive art experience in 2024,” a visit to this art museum is a great way to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The museum will use colors and artistic symbolism to celebrate the occasion.

Time: Jan. 30 - Feb. 3, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

2025 Lunar New Year Festival

This festival has been a tradition in Houston’s Asiatown for more than 20 years, and it showcases the cultural customs, foods, and artwork of Asian communities across the city. The event is free to attend with registration, and you can register online here.

Time: Feb. 1, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Location: 9800 Town Park Drive (Chinese Community Center)

Price: Free to attend

Texas Lunar Festival

Over the last 28 years, volunteers and Houston community leaders have helped to showcase Asian cultural diversity and expression through the Texas Lunar Festival. See more information here.

Space Center Houston Lunar New Year Celebration

If you’re looking to experience the rich traditions of the Lunar New Year with a space kick, then the Lunar New Year celebration at Space Center Houston is the place to be! The event will include a celebration of the holiday, facts about the moon, and hands-on experiments.

Time: Feb. 1 - Feb 2, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Lunar New Year at Discovery Green

Discovery Green is hosting a cultural celebration with vibrant performances from the iconic Lee’s Golden Dragon Dancer and more! Food trucks will be present, so you can enjoy tasty snacks during the performance. The event is free with registration, you can register here.
