Law enforcement searching for inmate who escaped Harris County Joint Processing Center

HOUSTON – Law enforcement in Harris County are searching for an inmate who escaped from custody Tuesday.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says Travis Earl Bryant II, 47, exited the Harris County Joint Processing Center releasing area at around 12:55 p.m.

Law enforcement says Bryant had a hold on him from Jefferson County and had been arrested in Harris County on a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was in the process of being transferred to Jefferson County.

The sheriff’s office says he was wearing a dark grey colored mechanics jumper.

He is six feet tall and 175 pounds. If you have seen him, you are urged to call the sheriff’s office at 713-221-6000.
