HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man is now in custody after leading law enforcement on a chase following a carjacking in west Harris County Wednesday.
According to the Harris County Pct. 5 Constable’s Office, the carjacking happened at a gas station at Clay Road and Greenhouse Road. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says a woman was carjacked at gunpoint at the location. She was found unharmed.

Pct. 5 deputies responded and found the vehicle involved. The armed suspect led law enforcement on a chase for about 10 minutes before crashing into another vehicle at Clay Road and the Grand Parkway. At that point, the constable’s office says the man ran away from the vehicle on foot. He was caught by law enforcement.
While investigating, deputies found a woman in the back seat of the car with a gunshot wound. Investigators are looking into who the woman is.
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the woman is not believed to be connected to the carjacking victim.

The woman was taken to a hospital by ambulance but is now being transferred by Lifeflight in critical condition.
