HOUSTON – Multiple lanes across the Southwest Freeway are being temporarily closed due to damage caused by snowplows that were clearing snow from the roadways.
Both north and southbound lanes on I-69 between University Boulevard and Riverbrook are in the process of being closed. The closure was supposed to begin at 6 p.m., however, it was briefly delayed. TxDOT is now in the process of shutting them down.
The closure was announced on X by the Houston District of the Texas Department of Transportation.

KPRC 2′s Bryce Newberry contacted TxDOT, which confirmed that the pavement needed to be repaired after stripes and markers were removed from the road by snowplows.
The lanes are scheduled to reopen at 5 a.m. Thursday.
