Agencies collaborate to ensure safety amid arctic front

Warming centers will have extended hours on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025. (KSAT)

As Houston prepares for extreme cold weather this week, various organizations have partnered up to open their doors as warming centers in the area. You can visit the Ready Harris website to find more information about the nearest warming center to your location.

Precinct 1 Warming Centers

Hours of Operation: Monday, Jan. 20 and Tuesday, Jan. 21 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Water and MREs will be available.

Montgomery Warming Centers

Montgomery City Hall will serve as a warming shelter from noon on Jan. 20 to noon on Jan. 22, according to a Facebook post by the Montgomery Police Department.

Fort Bend County Warming Centers

As freezing temperatures grip the region, Fort Bend County has opened several warming centers to provide residents with a safe and warm place to seek refuge from the cold. Both overnight and daytime warming centers are available.
