The prank letter alleged misconduct in school bathrooms, claiming absurd consequences and fabricated policies that sparked confusion and concern among those who saw it.
School administrators quickly confirmed the letter was fake and launched an investigation into who posted them around the campus.
Splendora High School sent the following letter to parents:
“This morning, an inappropriate notice was posted in a boys’ restroom, falsely claiming to be issued by a school administrator. While this may have been intended as a joke, it is inappropriate and unacceptable. We are investigating the matter and will address it in accordance with school policies. We ask for your support in reminding students of the importance of making responsible choices and respecting our school community. Thank you for your cooperation as we work to maintain a respectful and safe environment.” While many students may have seen the letter as a harmless joke, school officials are taking the matter seriously. The district is using this incident to remind students of the importance of respecting school policies and the potential consequences of spreading misinformation.”
While humor can be subjective, incidents like these can disrupt the school environment and create unnecessary concern.
Parents are encouraged to discuss the situation with their children and reach out to school administrators with any concerns. For updates, visit the Splendora ISD website.
