Substitute teacher in Klein ISD? Here’s what it takes to get hired
Court records and information from students in the classroom confirm the teacher to be Hartley.
However, a spokesperson for both Klein ISD and the Klein ISD Police Department would not confirm this information.
When KPRC 2’S Gage Goulding called the police department, they deferred to the school’s spokesperson.
“The Klein ISD police department is the arresting agency. They know the name, charges filed, and have the mugshot. I have requested that information from them,” said Justin Elbert, the spokesperson for both the school district and the school’s police department. “Thank you for your patience as their weekend crew processes my request for information.”
Nobody was at Hartley’s Spring home, which was found in publicly available court records.
Hartley is already out of jail on a $100 bond.

Klein ISD told KPRC 2 on Friday that the teacher is no longer on the substitute list within the district.
“The former substitute has been terminated and will never work in Klein ISD again. Klein ISD police still have the former substitute in custody, and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office has accepted charges. Klein ISD will also report the former substitute to all appropriate agencies,” the district said.
