Houston’s trash pickup is experiencing changes and delays in trash collection during this busy holiday season.
Officials say crews are running behind schedule because there’s more debris than expected. Right now, they’re focusing on bulk waste that was scheduled for pick-up during the first and second weeks of December. They’re asking residents to place bulk waste at the curb as crews work to catch up.

Heads up: There won’t be any garbage, recycling, yard waste, or bulk waste collection on New Year’s Day and neighborhood drop-offs won’t be open. Plan ahead to avoid overflowing bins.
