HOUSTON, Texas – A submerged car in a Harris County pond has been recovered, and authorities confirm no one was inside after a suspected drunk driver claimed her boyfriend might have been in the vehicle.

Constables also added that the woman, who was suspected to be drunk, arrived at the person’s door soaking wet and also didn’t know if her boyfriend was inside the vehicle with her when she drove it into the pond.

The woman, identified as 27-year-old Jennifer Bello, took a standardized field sobriety test, which determined she was intoxicated. She was arrested and booked into jail for a DWI. Constables said she has a prior DUI on her record.
