10-year-old boy injured when SUV slams into barber shop in north Houston

Boy expected to recover

HOUSTON – A 10-year-old boy was injured after a driver in an SUV plowed through five businesses in North Houston.

It happened on Westheimer and Barker Oaks Dr. at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

25 people were inside 32 Degree Barber Shop at the time.

“It was just a normal Saturday of cutting. I finished my client, and I was about to put my 10-year-old in the chair,” said Barber Chez Robertson.

The driver hit the 10-year-old who was waiting for a haircut.

“By God’s grace, he reached his hand over the car,” said Robertson.

The boy was expected to recover. The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital, but his condition was unknown.

It’s unclear what caused the driver to crash into the businesses or if they’ll face charges.
