TOMBALL, Texas – It’s been a tragic week for the Tettleton family and on Thursday, December 5, loved ones will pay their respects to 16-year-old Brylee Tettleton at Conroe’s Eickenhorst Funeral Services.

In a Facebook post, Jaija Tettleton, Brylee’s mom, shared the family is grateful for support and prayers from the community.
“As we’ve grieved this week, we have been silent, but we have undoubtedly felt and heard all of the prayers from each and every one of you,” Jaija Tettleton wrote. “We would love to keep those coming because we still need them.”

Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said Brylee’s older brother, Rhyder Tettleton, shot him.
The shooting happened in a barn behind the family’s home in Tomball, where witnesses say the group of teens had been dry-firing guns—believing they were unloaded—throughout the night.

Family attorney Andrea Kolski described the shooting as a “tragic accident,” emphasizing that there may have been misunderstandings or misstatements surrounding the events.
“The night of the tragic accident, there was a number of things that I’m sure were misstated or will come to light during the pendency of this case,” Kolski said. “But what I will say, is that this was a tragic accident and that will be something that will be evident.”
“Our kind, caring, and loving beautiful baby boy went to be with Jesus on November 25,” Jaija wrote. “We can only imagine the amazing things he’s getting to see. We love and miss him with all of our existence.”
The family says in a Facebook post they will have a public viewing at Eikenhorst Funeral Home from 4 - 8 p.m.
