Houston – According to Houston Police the crash happened along east Navigation near Avenue H around 3 a.m. on Sunday morning.
Investigators said that the officer was responding to a call but overcorrected when driving which caused him to crash into a construction site. The officer managed to get out before his patrol vehicle caught on fire.

According to HPD the officer suffered minor injuries to his wrist.
No other vehicles were involved and no passengers we inside of the patrol unit at the time.
