Researchers at WalletHub did a deep dive into the darkest parts of the country by looking at violent crimes, excessive drinking, and the number of adult entertainment establishments.
The findings led them to narrow it down to Houston coming at 2nd most “sinful” in the U.S., right behind ... take a WILD guess.
Yep, that’s right; Sin City itself: Las Vegas.
Houston actually was ranked 1st when it came to “Lust” and 5th when it came to “Jealousy.” However, it wasn’t the only Texas city to make the top 10; Dallas was ranked 9th most “sinful.”
Columbia, MD meanwhile was ranked the very least “sinful.”
Despite the word “sinful” might make people feel some type of way, WalletHub shared this comment on the report:
“Regardless of any particular religious tenets, certain activities are considered ‘sinful’ by society as a whole. Sometimes, these activities are always bad, like violent crimes or identity theft,” Chip Lupo, WalletHub Analyst said. “In other cases, they may be relatively harmless in moderation but incredibly destructive when not kept under control, such as alcohol use or gambling. The most sinful cities are those where illicit activities and vices alike are the most widespread.”
