Altuve’s seven Silver Slugger Awards put him in elite company. He has the most all time for an AL second baseman and is tied with Chicago Cubs legend Ryne Sandberg for most by a second baseman in MLB history. Altuve also has the most Silver Sluggers of any Astro in franchise history.
Altuve suited up for 153 games in the 2024 season, batting .295 with 20 home runs, 65 RBI, 22 stolen bases and an OPS of .790. He ranked first or second in the AL in most of the major hitting metrics.
He was selected over fellow finalists Colt Keith (Detroit Tigers), Marcus Semien (Texas Rangers) and Gleyber Torres (New York Yankees).
