Three people were arrested after a child was locked inside of a dryer at a public laundromat as punishment.
On Nov. 11, constable deputies with Harris County Pct. 4 responded to the Hi Tek Washateria located at 13075 Kuykendahl Rd. in northwest Houston after concerned bystanders reported that a six-year-old child had been locked inside of a clothing dryer.

When deputies arrived, the child was found to be “visibly shaking and crying.”
Upon further investigation, authorities learned that the child was in the care of three adults at the time of the incident. The child became upset after “losing a bag of chips,” and a man, later identified as 18-year-old Haven Duncan, decided to lock him in a dryer until the chips could be found.
Two other adults, identified as 20-year-old Jaqory Gill and 19-year-old Life Ford, kept the child from being able to escape. The ordeal lasted for roughly five minutes before witnesses alerted authorities.
Deputies attempted to detain all three of the suspects, but Gill evaded on foot. Ford pushed one of the officials attempting to chase him, and she was swiftly arrested. Haven was also arrested at the scene and was found to have a loaded gun in his possession. A perimeter was set up around the area, and Gill was soon located and also arrested.
All three suspects were booked into Harris County Jail. Haven was charged with child endangerment and given a $10,000 bond. Gill was charged with evading on foot, and his bond was set at $100. Ford was charged with interfering with the duties of a public servant, and she was also given a $100 bond.
The victim was evaluated by EMS responders and released to a guardian at the scene. Child Protective Services was contacted and notified of the situation.
