Police say the male suspect was armed when he was shot by HPD officers. Authorities said the guns used by the two police officers at the scene and the perpetrator were all the same caliber, so it is unclear how many shots were fired by both parties.

He was taken to the hospital in stable condition with one gunshot wound in the leg. No officers were shot or injured in the ordeal.
