3 injured, 1 critically, in crash caused by wrong-way driver on Allen Parkway and Stanford, HPD says

HOUSTON – Multiple people have been injured in a major crash caused by a wrong-way driver on Allen Parkway and Stanford Street near downtown Houston Monday, officers with the Houston Police Department said.

The crash happened in the 1900 block of Allen Parkway around 9 p.m.

According to HPD, a man walking his dog saw the wrong-way driver, who was driving a black pickup truck, traveling westbound in eastbound lanes with no headlights on. That driver crashed into a white SUV and sustained life-threatening injuries, police said.

Officers said three people in all were taken to trauma centers in unknown conditions— one person from the SUV and two from the pickup truck.

All eastbound traffic of Allen Parkway remains closed during the investigation.

KPRC 2 will have more updates as they become available.
