Man found shot to death inside home after fire extinguished in north Houston, police say

HOUSTON – An investigation is underway after a man was found shot to death inside a home after a fire in north Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The discovery was made Tuesday at 8:08 p.m. during a house fire located in the 20900 block of Birnamwood Blvd. Initial reports said a burned body was found in a ditch.

Police said the man suffered severe trauma from the fire and an apparent gunshot wound. No suspects have been named at the time of this writing.
