Tracking the tropics: Stay ahead of the storm’s impact in the Houston area with these tools from KPRC 2

HOUSTON – Our Storm Tracker 2 team is tracking trouble in the tropics, specifically the Gulf of Mexico. That trouble may make its way to SE Texas next weekend (the 28th). Will it become tropical storm Helene?

From weather watches and warnings to hour-by-hour forecasts, road conditions and the preparations you should make at your home or office - here’s how KPRC 2 can help you and our family stay ahead of the storm.

Flood Tracker

KPRC 2 has partnered with the Harris County Flood Control District to better serve our community during severe weather events.

Any time there’s significant rainfall in the Houston area, you can see exactly which neighborhoods are experiencing the greatest impact at Click2Houston.com/floodtracker.

Our expert meteorologists have flood gauge maps they use to illustrate current conditions. When all the gauges are green, we’re in great shape. When gauges start to change to yellow and red, water is rising. This is an easy, visual way to see when and where people and property are most at risk of flooding.
