Houston is starting the weekend with a refreshing change in the air after a cold front swept through on Wednesday night.
Morning temperatures are expected to dip into the 60s over the weekend, which is a welcome break from the typical average of 71 degrees for this time of year.
Friday’s Forecast:
The official arrival of autumn brings even more reasons to smile about the weather. Afternoon highs are forecast to reach the upper 80s to lower 90s, but low humidity should keep things feeling comfortable whether you’re heading out early or staying out all day.
Sunny skies are expected to stick around throughout the weekend, making this stretch feel “Autumn amazing,” “Pumpkin perfect,” and “Fall fantastic.” If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to make outdoor plans, this weekend is shaping up to be it.
Tropical outlook:
Gabrielle is now a post-tropical cyclone as it moves east towards Portugal. There is more brewing in the Atlantic.
Tropical Storm Humberto is less than 500 miles east-northeast of the Northern Leeward islands with 40 mph.
We’re also watching showers and thunderstorms organize with a tropical wave near Puerto Rico. A tropical depression is likely to form near the Bahamas late this week. We’ll keep an eye on areas like Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Turks and Calicos Islands as well. This storm will continue to move to the north potentially bringing tropical moisture across the south eastern United States coast.
There are no storms set to impact the Gulf Coast.
