Tropical Storm Humberto forms in the Atlantic

The 8th named storm of the season

Tropical Storm Humberto

The National Hurricane Center has named the 8th storm of the Atlantic hurricane season. Tropical Storm Humberto formed at 4PM CT Wednesday afternoon.

Humberto is expected to move to the northwest over the next couple of days as it moves through unfavorable conditions for further development.

As we go through the day on Saturday the storm will be in a favorable region that will allow it to strengthen into a hurricane and speed up towards the east coast.

This storm will bring an elevated rip current risk to Atlantic facing beaches along the east coast and rough surf.

This is the 8th named storm of the tropical season. The next named storm will be called Imelda.
