Tonight’s Forecast:
The humidity is back in Houston! Tonight will be muggy and warm for high school football games. Thankfully there are no rain chances tonight.
Weekend Flood Risk:
The humidity and a wind from the Gulf will bring sea breeze showers and storms on Saturday. This will bring a 30% chance for rain, especially south and along I-10.
Sunday the rain chance increases to 60%. Storms will be more scattered, especially southwest of Houston.
If you’ve been making plans outdoors, now’s a good time to keep an eye on the forecast and have your rainy day options ready for Sunday. There is a 1/4 flood risk Sunday.
Tropical moisture from Tropical Storm Lorena could push into Texas. However, guidance shows some of the deepest moisture may miss SE Texas, don’t take that sigh of relieve just yet because a cold front moves through Sunday, this will also help keep storm chances around.
After the wet weather rolls through, Monday could bring widespread showers and cooler high temperatures, possibly even a start in the upper 60s one morning early next week. The front may stall near the coast which could prolong rain chances beyond Monday.
Tropical Outlook:
The tropics remain generally quiet. Right now, we’re watching a tropical wave over the far eastern tropical Atlantic, southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands is producing disorganized thunderstorms. It has an 90% chance to develop over the next 7 days. Currently the track looks to be similar to Hurricane Erin that curved north and brought rough seas to the east coast.

Behind the wet weather comes a slight temperature change for morning lows on Tuesday. Instead of upper 70s, we could wake up to temperatures in the low to mid-70s. Don’t get too excited, though, as the daytime temperatures stay high!
