Nothing but sunshine, comfortable morning lows across SE Texas for the first week of September

Mornings will be pleasant with a drier air moving in from north Texas!

After a heavy-rain filled and soggy Labor Day weekend, we are finally dry across SE Texas.

The dry pattern continues throughout the week with nothing but sunshine before rain chances return late week.

Midweek Drier Forecast:

Wednesday through Friday is expected to bring highs around 94 to 96 degrees, but with much less of the muggy feel that has lingered for weeks. A push of drier air is heading south from the Central Plains and will be in place for a few days.

It’s a welcome change from the constant afternoon thunderstorms, offering a “nice little break” for everyone who’s been waiting for better outdoor weather.

Don’t get used to it just yet—rain chances make a strong comeback late Sunday.

If you’ve been making plans outdoors, now’s a good time to keep an eye on the forecast and have your rainy day options ready.

After the wet weather rolls through, Monday could bring widespread showers and cooler high temperatures, possibly even a start in the upper 60s one morning early next week.

Tropical Outlook:

The tropics remain generally quiet. Right now, we’re watching a tropical wave over the far eastern tropical Atlantic, south-southeast of the Cabo Verde Islands is producing disorganized thunderstorms. It has a 70% chance to develop over the next 7 days. Currently the track looks to be similar to Hurricane Erin that curved north and brought rough seas to the east coast.

Your extended forecast:

Behind the wet weather comes a slight temperature change for morning lows on Tuesday. Instead of upper 70s, we could wake up to temperatures in the low to mid-70s. Don’t get too excited, though, as the daytime temperatures stay high!
